| Hello everyone, As you know tomorrow is my first appointment. Are their and questions I should have for the Dr? I just want to make sure all of my bases are covered. I slept all day as expected. Thats usually what happens to me when I ran out in the past. I am gald I had my wife get rid of the Vicodin cause I really wanted a bunch when I woke up today. I'm really shaky now so the withdrawals are setting in for sure. I have no ambition. I'm going to make sure that I drink plenty of water and have something to eat soon before my appetite is lost. I am just so glad that after tomorrow, I'll never have to go through this again. Thank you everyone for all of your help and understanding through all of this. I'm gonna go now and rest some. Thank you, George | |

| Hi George It is good to hear from you today. I must admit I didn't expect to hear from you yet. It is always good to have your questions line up before you go in for your induction appointment, by the time you go in you may not feel like trying to remember so it is best to write them down.
You will need him to be specific on how much and how often he wants you to take your medication, when will your next appointment be. Will he be available for you if you have to call him later on with any questions or problems. If he is not available will he have someone on call that is experienced with Suboxone. A really important question for your doctor is to ask him in the beginning of your treatment if he expects you to be able to use Suboxone as a maintenance medication or will he expect you to taper down anytime soon. Some doctors don't believe in using Suboxone for maintenance and expect their patients to use it as a tool for detox only. Which makes no sense really, how can you put a time limit on recovery? I know that you have already been in contact with your insurance company, do they have a pre authorization requirement for your prescription? I ask because my insurance company requires a pre authorization once a year so I make sure that my provider contacts the insurance company while I am still in the office with her. That way I know when I am able to pick up my medication.
Usually I can think of a lot of questions but right now that is about it. I'm sure that some of the other members may be able to give you a few suggestions as well. Good luck George, please know that we will be there in spirit with you. Dee | |

| I went to my appiontment today and I am a sucessful candidate for their program. However, I did not recieve any suboxone today and will not until next Monday when I go for my induction appointment. They will give me a prescriptoin on Friday that I can fill on Monday for my induction. I first have a physical on Friday. They also set me up with counseling, and gave me shedules for AA and NA that are manditory attendance. I'm just bummed that I have to wait until next week. I am sick now but the Dr told me he would treat me even if I am not in physical withdrawal next Monday. I am so tired and I am going to sleep now. Thank you all. George | |

| Hi Dee. On Monday my wife has to pick up my first dose of Suboxone with me at the pharmacy and then we go to my induction appointment. Their they will administer the dose and see how I am feeling in about an hour. If more is required I will be dosed again and then given enough medication until my next appointment the following day or two. I was dissapointed this afternoon. If they needed all of these other tests, I wish they would have told me. Oh well, Monday is right around the corner, right. I waited this long another week woun't kill me. George | |

| That's the spirit George. It sounds like your provider is going to be one of the good ones. He is doing your induction the way it should be done and I am glad to hear it. I know you maybe tired of hearing this but you will make it. I know you will. Be proud of yourself, very proud. After Monday you and your wife need to get out and do something just for the two of you. Some alone time with you feeling "normal" will be really nice. Anytime you need to hear some cheering look us up. We are here. Dee | |

| Thank's Dee, Yeah he sounds serious, my Dr. He is really into the counceling aspect of treatment. I also have to sign different documents and a contract. It's a good thing that he also is taking over as my primary physican. Were going to work on different parts of health related issues as well. I'm going to get hooked up with a dentist, and a eye Dr. I just didn't have time for that when I was active and he pointed that out to me. My health and abstenance from drugs is his primary goal. My wife is a doll! She understands and is willing to help out any way she can. I told her today about all of the money I spent at work buying perc 30's from this guy and she was a little pissed, but understanding as well. She also is willing to start thearpy with me if needed. It all sounds good to me. I just want to start my new life and not have the need to buy, or go to different Dr's to get what I think I need to feel good about myself. I feel safe here on this form. I can say or ask anything I want and not feel judged. I will continue to post daily as I feel this is a important part of my recovery. George | |

| Hi George, I feel good knowing the existence of this forum is helping another person get to where they need to be. I don't have a lot of down days but when I do it helps me to be able to come here and read the posts of the other members. It helps me to remember where I came from and what could have been. I am blessed that I have lived long enough to see the person that I can be. I no longer count the days to when I get to see the doctor and I no longer have to worry about what I want to tell the doctor in order to insure that I can get my pills early because I took them all within a week of filling a prescription. You put a smile on my face tonight and I thank you for that. It seems that lately I have been wrapped up in my own health issues and it helped to have someone else to focus on. I don't know what is going to happen yet as I don't yet have the results of my biopsy. But I do know that whatever it is, I can face it. Try to get some rest, Dee | |
