What are you grateful for?

I am grateful for my job. I might not always love it but it's a job.
I am grateful for my 2 sisters that I have re-connected with.
I am grateful for my son, who offers to help me decorate but then goes to his friends house ! He's really a good young man even though he's sneaky and gets out of decorating with me !

I'm grateful for the parties at work that I was included in. Getting gifts is fun too !

I'm grateful for my support here on the forum. You ladies rock it everyday !

TODAY WILL BE A GREAT THURSDAY ! I KNOW IT AND I FEEL IT !!!

Today, Christmas eve I am grateful to be out of active addiction.
When I think back to last Christmas, I was at my lowest.
It will be ONE YEAR ADDICTION FREE on New Years Eve And I am so
blessed to have gotten into this treatment.

I am grateful for my husband, who made many phone calls to find my physician.
I am grateful for my physician, he's a good doctor and a good fit for me.
I am grateful for my children, while I miss the days of waiting for Santa, my
children are growing up to be fine young adults. My daughter and I had so much
fun Christmas shopping. She's a lot like me, and all we do is laugh when we are
out together.

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas if you celebrate and a happy and addiction
free 2013.

Today I am grateful for this being my first Christmas out d active addiction in 5 almost 6 years!
I am grateful that I am almost 5 months out of actie addiction!
I am grateful for my fiancé and his family, without them I'd still be running around trying to find some pills or patches on Christmas Eve like last year!
I am grateful for my son. He is the light of my life. And without him I wouldn't hae had the guts to go in to recovery!
I am grateful for my mother in law, she has been very supportive and understanding and her, my father in law and my fiancé really helped me get back on my feet!
I am grateful for EDM treatment center! Without them I'd never have found my doctor and therapist.
I am grateful for my doctor Terry and my therapist Debbie! They are a great team and are both very good for me.
I am grateful for this forum and the support I've gotten from everybody here.
I am grateful for chat it's a great experience and I have gotten to know you ladies so well.
I am grateful for Blue, Dee ad Rae. You guys really else e get out of the deep depression I was in with your kind words and support! Thank you so much!

I am grateful I have lowered my dose. It started as an accident and I just stuck with it. I have went from 24mg/day to just 8mg/day.

Hello Ladies! I believe some of you hae forgotten about this already (Ahem Blue, Rae, lol)
So I'm bringing it back again.

Today I am grateful to be home from the hospital!
I am grateful for the help from my fiancé and my family while I still recover from this sickness!
I am grateful to be alive! Because what I had could have potentially been fatal! It almost killed me before!
I am grateful for my son! Whom I am incredibly lucky to have!
I am grateful for my fiancé who has helped me so much in in the almost 4 years that we have been together. And I don't just mean when I'm sick.
I am grateful for my fiancé's family, who is my family, there also helped me so mic in my recovery, they've always been so supportive, not to mention they've helped a lot since I've been sick as well.
I am grateful for my home that I have to live in. The roof over my head and the heat the fills the place!
I am grateful for our car that gets up where we need to go! Wether it be to the hospital, pharmacy or wen grocery store!
I am grateful for EDM treatment Center, without them I would not be almost 6 months into my recovery! Without them I would probably still be using!
I am grateful for Dr. Terry Nowak! He's been the best doctor I've met in my life, he's also taken on the roll of being my family doctor.
I am grateful for Debbie, my therapist! She has been very understanding and patient while working with me. Through my moods that go up and down because I'm bi polar and my depression!
I am grateful for this forum! It has become the best support system I could have ever hoped for!
I am grateful for Dee! And all the information she shares with us! And just for being here to help and support others, including me, on this forum.
I am grateful for Blue! She has been very supportive and has helped me stay strong through the rough times when I was depressed!
I am grateful for Rae, and her support ad guidance!
I have made 3 wonderful friends here on our forum, they are more than friends they are my family! And I am grateful every single day for them!

Today I'm grateful for the heat we have in our home. (Woodburning fireplace) When it's cold outside.
Today I'm grateful for my son. He had all four wisdom teeth taken out and only needs his pain meds twice the first night. I worried for nothing !
Today I'm grateful for the relationship I have with my daughter. When she tells me some of her friends claims they "Hate their mother's" I'm grateful we have a loving relationship. She's a kind person, considerate and loving.
Today I'm grateful for my doctor. Who sat patiently while I babbled all my problems and then offered help and advice that I truly will try and take.
Today I'm grateful for the gym I get to workout in. I've stayed consistent for over a year now, and I'm proud of myself for doing that !
Today I'm grateful for my online support here.
Dee, who's always there for me
Jaz, who's been so strong and is a loving mother who'd do anything for her son.

Today I'm grateful for my job. Even though I'm not happy there, it's a job that brings much need money into my home.

I want to add another post for today since it's something that I've been noticing since I've been addiction free !

Ok. Here is goes !

I am grateful for MORNINGS !!

Yes, you read that correctly. I said mornings.
Let me explain.
When I was using pills the worst times for me (and I'm sure those reading will agree) were mornings when I got up because I'd be in withdrawal (although late in my addiction, I'd be popping pills all night at that point).
So mornings would basically SUCK ! Because, 9 times out of 10, I'd barely had enough to keep me out of withdrawal, so I'd have to "Meet my guy" after I got the kids off to school, because I had to re-up.
So, yea, before work, I'd go out of my way, where ever I had to go, to pick up so I would be able to go to work and have enough on me to make it through the day.
I couldn't just run out when ever I needed since no one knew I was addicted. So that left me during my work hours. I don't know how I even kept my job during those times. I would run out whenever "my guy" was ready.

What a mess !

But now? Now, I wake up, and I'm not buggin' out for a pill.

I make coffee, I make lunch for my daughter, and lunch for myself (everyday !) I make breakfast for daughter (everyday !). Get ready for work. Everyone always has clean clothes ! I leave the house clean, do dishes before I leave, straighten up.
You get the idea, it's just that, I'm not curled up on my bed counting the minutes until I can get my fix.
I am human again ! It's such a good feeling.

So today, I am grateful for mornings. They are beautiful aren't they ??

I do agree. Mornings are the best! It is my absolute favorite time of day. The day is new, bright and fresh. It is a nice feeling to wake up and not have to "run out" but do what needs to be done in the house and go on about your day.
Enjoy it to the fullest!

I agree with you ladies too! I am also grateful for mornings! Especially when I get up before my son and actually get a couple hours of peace and quiet and time to myself!

Also, I am grateful for my fiancé, who just started on suboxone today.
Let me explain, now that I am ready to share.

A week ago my fiancé confessed to me that he had been taking vikes behind my back for months and said he was tired of hiding it and that he was ready to quit! Thank god!
I had no idea he was using, and my DOC at that! Opiates! I feel like I should have seen some signs, but I didn't. I feel like I let him down, by not warning him exactly what could happen, but I didn't. I guess he couldn't learn from my experience and had to learn on his own. I was very upset and disappointed in him at first. But then I realized, what's done is done we can't take it back! So I forgave him and began to be supportive! He started on suboxone today actually! I am we proud of him already!

I am grateful today for my family.
I am able to get up and be a mom to my kids. I can make them breakfast for them on a Sunday morning (late morning since I have teenagers !)

I am grateful the sun is shining today !

I am grateful that Jasmine is out of the hospital and home with her baby !

I am grateful that from this forum I have built friendships and gained support from wonderful people.

I am grateful for my therapist Debbie. She listens to me and when I see her I feel like I can say anything and do not feel like I'm being rushed. Usually we even lose track of time and go over my hour!
I am grateful for this forum and the support I get from you ladies on it!
I am grateful for Ellen (Blue Eyes) She is very supportive, listens to my problems when I need somebody to talk to, she is a very strong woman and I am lucky to have her in my life and as a part of my support system!
I am grateful for Dee (nanamom) She is doing something amazing here, like Ellen, with this forum, she gives great advice, and I feel like she has an answer for everything! I know that I can come to Dee, or Ellen and if they can't answer my question they will help me find te answer! I am lucky to have Dee as a part f my support system too!
I am grateful for Rae. Although she hasn't been on her very much anymore, she was a big part of my support system and my recovery for a couple month until about 3 weeks ago. She taught me a lot of new things and ways to deal with things. Like "The Law of Attraction" and meditation!

I pray for you Rae! I hope that you are feeling better and life is getting easier and less busy for you!
