Thank you nannamom. We are new her as you know. We are looking for a doctor but the closest ones are 110 miles away. Having trouble finding one that accepts insurance. Most want CASH...& they are quite expensive. Are you on Suboxone? My name is Shelly. I am Rick's wife. He is the one who is addicted...any support groups for spouses?
Thanks,
Shelly

Hi Shelly
It is nice to meet you. Yes, I am on suboxone. I have been on Suboxone for 3 years. I know what you mean about most doctors wanting cash, I don't understand why or how they can do that to the people that need this medication the most.
What area are you in? Did you use the physician locator system on the website?
I know how hard it is to find a doctor in the area.
In the area that I live in, we have a lot of doctors that are certified to prescribe Suboxone but most of them won't admit it. To me it doesn't make any sense. A counselor of a group I once went to told me that a lot of them don't prescribe because there is too much paper work involved. I don't know how true that is though.
Maybe we can figure out something to find a doctor a little closer to you. AS for finding a support group for family members of addicts, yes, there are some. I have to warn you though, most of them are against Suboxone and even Methadone.
You are most welcome to join us here. If you need anything just send me a post. If you would rather send me a pm you can do that as well. I will do whatever I can to help both you and Rick.
Yours,
Dee/nannamom
