Thanks for welcoming me here, it is very much appreciated to be surrounded with such positive energy that both of you shine in your own unique way. My real name is Kassidy...but my friends call me Dink- it's a long, embarassing story. I checked myself into detox on April 16th after 6 years of opiate abuse. It wasn't until weeks after that until my therapist introduced me to Suboxone because I wasn't getting any better without. I've walked down many roads that I am not proud of nor ashamed because I am the person I am today because of it. I'm only 19, but I have been through more than anyone could imagine in my short-lived life. I am thankful to have hit my rock bottom at such a young age because I have an entire life ahead of me. Sobriety is one the hardest goals i've ever had to accomplish and I struggle everyday still-but I have learned to live sober thanks to suboxone and my inner strength.

Oh Dink,

I'm so glad you shared! I'm so glad you are as young as you are and well on your way to a wonderful life...not easy, wonderful. It does my heart so much good to see a young person get straight. I'm 66 next October and three years into Suboxone. I'm down to 2 milligrams a day, but I wish I had started years ago. I'd have a lot more security saved for my retirement even though I'm sitting on two and a half acres of prime property.

You just hang in there even if your head falls off. I'm so happy for you. We are a loving bunch of people here. We are all so glad to have you here with us.

Yours in the struggle,
Barbara
